Private Functions at The Mill

The Chester Historical Society views its building at 9 West Main Street as a community resource. As such we endeavor to make the building available to other community-oriented organizations who have need of a public meeting space.

If your organization has need for a public gathering, please contact a member of the Board of Trustees. Your request must be sponsored by a current Trustee. Our criteria for determining if we can accomodate your need will be based on the perceived benefit of your event to the Chester community, the prior support that your organization has given to the Historical Society and the Town of Chester, and other factors such as the security of the collections stored in the building and proximity to other events. The decision regarding your request will be made by the Board of Trustees or their delegates at their sole discretion.

In all cases, the building is made available on an "as is" basis. You will be respnsible for cleaning the building in advance of and after your event, for trash disposal, security, and liability.

We do not charge "rent" but we do appreciate a donation to help defray the costs of operating the building. Our application form and cover letter will give you more details about our requirements.
